BIPOC

The voices of BIPOCs must finally be heard.

The acronym BIPOC stands as a collective term for Black, Indigenous, Person of Colour. According to IDA e.V., the term BIPOC denotes “a community for activism, protection, and empowerment for people with experiences of racism”.48

In the woke perspective, BIPOCs are disadvantaged in many ways by systemic racism. BIPOCs are regarded as the primary victims of racism, hate speech, and epistemic violence. To protect them from discrimination by the dominant society, a solidaristic identity politics should be supported (see Allyship).

From a woke viewpoint, all people who are not “white” based on their race count among the identities affected by marginalisation. Although “Indigenous” refers to native peoples, it applies only to groups affected by colonial violence. White and Asian people do not belong to BIPOCs, as they allegedly benefit from access to privileges. BIPOC experiences are considered particularly authentic, since only BIPOCs are exposed to certain forms of oppression (see Truth).49

Anyone identified as BIPOC who contradicts the woke ideology suffers from a form of false consciousness or is merely pursuing personal interests.
